Context

“The Center for Biblical Unity is an organization made of and devoted to Christians gathered from diverse backgrounds, unified by the common desire to engage in conversations to promote Gospel-centered unity in the Body of Christ” (centerforbiblicalunity.com). Learners have prior knowledge related to biblical unity through free materials available on the Center for Biblical Unity website. They work largely in academic and ministerial contexts and are motivated to shape the culture of their immediate context and promote an atmosphere of biblical unity where they often see confusion and division. By activating prior knowledge of Center for Biblical Unity content in conjunction with the proposed eLearning, learners will utilize an online interactive environment to craft a position statement that serves as a foundation for fostering the environment that motivates their own study.

Challenge

The Center for Biblical Unity currently provides training on worldview and cultural issues from a biblical perspective that are effective to individuals who serve in ministerial and academic contexts, but these learners would benefit from having an action plan or document that expresses their beliefs in a way that would help shape the culture of their specific contexts, which often operate from statements of belief or conduct that are vague and leave room for confusion and division.

Solution

This training will walk learners through how to use the knowledge they have gleaned from Center for Biblical Unity to create a robust, specific position statement on fundamental matters of faith and their implications on social and worldview issues, leaving the learner with a fully crafted statement and a plan to share and implement it in their organization.

Impact

By implementing their newly crafted position statements in their specific contexts, learners will impact the culture of their workplaces and foster a faith centered atmosphere of unity built on biblical truth, eliminating distrust and division cultivated by vague statements or positions.
